This is the Carnival in Cadiz. This is the best party, probably in whole Spain. It is wild, it is mad, it is fun… Having said that, the video is pretty harmless, filmed on sundays showing the parade of ‘coros’ in the historical town of Cadiz, the day after finishing the competition which is broadcasted on Cadiz TV till the early morning hours.
I am working an some less harmless Cadiz carnival videos… only subtitles missing… soon
You can compare the Gaditanos, the habitants of Cadiz, with the brazilians, the cariocas in Rio de Janeiro. They are waiting the whole year for carnaval to arrive. A party everybody should experience once in his life. Really. Better than the Carnival in Venice or in Kölle.

This is Caños de Meca. It is my favorite beach. Used to be a hippy town, still sort of is in summer. In the video, the light house, that is Cape Trafalgar… Lord Nelson defeating the french and spanish armada…

Que me he olvidado de mencionar es que también en el invierno la temperaturas son bastante agradables, estamos en el sur de la Isla Ibérica, con vistas a Maruecos con condiciones climáticos favorables…
Tampoco he menciondo el Levante que puede soplar una semana con vientos fuertes.. ideal para windsurf…

That’s where I am living.
“Conil de la Frontera, a white seaside village, facing the coast of North Africa, with an historic old town and some of the best beaches in Spain. This traditional fishing village is as much of a paradise in winter as in summer. It´s bars, flamenco peñas and restaurants welcome you with open arms.” Well, I wrote this text 5 years ago for my film school site. I forgot to mention two things: Firstly, since we are in the south of Spain (on clear days you can see Morocco), in winter the temperatures are pleasant. I remember coming home from Germany after Christmas and snow by plane, and 2 hours later I am playing beachball on the beach wearing not more than a t-shirt and some shorts…
Secondly, I forgot to mention the Levante, a wind coming from Africa blowing sometimes for days… Good for sunbathers who like to have a sand pealing and for windsurfers…

Und hier wohne ich.

“Conil de la Frontera, ‘Pueblo Blanco’ - das weiße Dorf am Meer mit 18000 Einwohnern und einem 15 km langen Strand vor der Haustür. Der idyllische Ort mit Hafen und schnuckeliger, historischer Altstadt ist ein Muss für alle Besucher der Costa de la Luz. Conil bietet ein gutes Nachtleben mit vielen Restaurants und Bars, u.a. auch Flamenco-Bars.
Und da wir hier ganz schön weit im Süden sind (bei guter Sicht sieht man Marokko), ist es auch Winter temperaturtechnisch gut auszuhalten.
Womit man allerdings rechnen muss, ist der ‘Levante’, ein Ostwind, der schon mal ne Woche blasen und jedem Sonnenbadenden zu einem Sandstrahlpealing verhelfen kann. Dann aber wiederum ideal für Windsurfer und Kitesurfer.

Conil - für mich war’s Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Aber das erzähle ich Euch ein ander Mal… und zwar in Videoform. Die spanische Version steht schon…

Hello World! This is the start of our new video blog from Southern Spain.
We, that is Julian and I, are going to show you how is life in Andalusia. With practical tips on how to get started in Spain, from changing your car insurance to starting up your own business. I am living in Conil de la Frontera for the last 6 years, running a film school and a video production company, so surely I will also put up a few video tutorials to improve your video skills.
But first of all I want to show you where I am living: Flying over the Costa de la Luz, filming out of a gyrocopter. Enjoy… And soon more ….

Hola Mundo! Este es el inicio de nuestro video blog del sur de España. Andalusia.
Pero primero tengo que confesar que no escribo muy bien español . Nunca lo he estudiado. Lo he aprendido en las calles de Conil. Entonces, hablo como guiri conileño y escribo como un Alemán que domina portugués. Pois é José.

Entonces, con este videoblog ó vblog me gustaria mostrar al mundo entero como y que bien se vive en Andalucia. Este blog va a ser especialmente interesante para los estranjeros visitando la Costa de la Luz o aquellos que pretenden vivir en España. Les voy a mostrar como por ejemplo se cambia la matricula de su coche alemana, basicamente indicando que papeles se necesita para vivir aquí, para comprar una casa, para crear un negócio, etc.
Ya vivo en Conil de la Frontera hace 6 años dirigindo una  escuela de cine e una productora audiovisual & multimedia. Y como soy especialista en el tema de cine también voy a ofrecer video tutoriales revelando unos trucos como mejorar tus vídeo grabaciones… Pero primero estrena un vídeo presentandoles la zona donde vivo… Volando sobre la Costa de la Luz grabando deste un autogiro… que disfruten. Hallo da draußen! Dies ist der Beginn unseres Video-Blogs von der Costa de la Luz. Wir, Julian und ich, werden Euch zeigen, wie man hier Andalusien bzw. Spanien (über)lebt Mit praktischen Tipps für den Start in einem neuen Land, von der Autoummeldung bis hin zur Firmengründung. Welche Papiere man braucht, um hier einen Wohnsitz zu beantragen, eine Ferienwohnung zu kaufen etc. Wir zeigen Euch, wie’s geht.
Ich wohne seit über 6 Jahren in Conil de la Frontera und betreibe neben diesem Holiday Portal eine Filmschule und eine Videoproduktionsfirma. Von daher könnt ihr davon ausgehen, dass hier demnächst auch ein paar praktische Tipps zum Thema ‘Videofilmerei’ als Videotutorial zu sehen sein werden.

Aber zuerst gibts jetzt erst einmal ein Video von der Gegend hier.. Fliegen über die Costa de la Luz, aus einem Gyrokopter gefilmt. Viel Spaß und bis in baldiger Bälde…
